Reflection

Week 5:

Week 4:  7/5/14 –   Curating resources was new to me but I can completely see how useful is.  It is so helpful to have resources readily available regardless of the topic or theme.  I would like to introduce curation to the staff at the school where I teach.

Week 3:  6/25/14 – Searching for and discovering my digital footprint was an eyeopening experience.  Although I only recently began to share materials and resources online, I am amazed at how often my name appeared on the Internet.  I suppose in reality my footprint is relatively small but it is definitely something I will keep an eye on.

Week 2:  6/18/14 – I am learning the power of social networking and the negative effect it can have on a person.  As I stated last week, we were tasked with joining a group on Facebook.  After numerous emails to Facebook with no reply, I am realizing the level of power they have over the public.  I am still waiting for a reply from Facebook explaining why my account was disabled and how long it will remain that way.

Week 1:  6/13/14 – Learning how to integrate social networking in the classroom has been a goal of mine for some time and am looking forward to learning how to authentically achieve this.  Unfortunately the class is off to a bit of a rocky start.  One of the requirements was to join a group using Facebook and for some reason my account was disabled.  I have been working at getting this resolved but so far I am still on the outside looking in.
